#9 Part 1 of 2: Type 1 and Toddlers
This is PART 1 in a 2 part mini series on Type 1 Diabetes and Toddlers! Toddlers, man... they're challenging enough without diabetes!! Right?! In this episode I get to chat with Brady Roy, author of Little Shots for Little Tots and The ABCs of Diabetes (see link below to find them!). Brandy is also mom to Ryder, an adorable 2 year-old who was diagnosed with Type 1 at only 15 months old. Brandy is PASSIONATE about helping parents of babies and toddlers with Type 1 Diabetes. She has a wonderful Instagram account @t1dtoddler that offers up encouragement as well as tips and tricks on managing T1D in the littlest of the little warriors. Brandy's hope is that no parent of a T1D toddler feels alone or helpless in this journey. Proceeds from Brady's books go to help fund Ryder's Dexcom each month (because it is not covered under Canada's health care) and goes towards funds that Brandy donates to local hospitals so that other babies and toddlers diagnosed with T1D can go home from the hospital with a CGM after diagnosis.
